The Forbidden History of the Elongated Skulls

Mark Laplume is an artist and independent researcher who has been engaged in making reconstruction drawings of ancient people with elongated skulls. 

Mark’s reconstructions were illustrated in an article on suppressed evidence challenging the Artificial Cranial Deformation paradigm as the only way of explaining elongated skulls. 

Mark now shares some of his insights into the mystery of elongated skulls with the readers of Ancient Origins. 

IG: Mark, how did you become interested in elongated skulls and why did you decide to start reconstructing the appearance of these people?

In 2006, when I first downloaded Google Earth, I looked around at places I knew and then made a bee line to the south end of Lake Titicaca. I was blown away by what I saw. 

The ruins of something vast covered every hilltop for miles in all directions. I knew something incredible had gone on there, but put it out of my mind after finding no interest by anyone I tried to share it with.

About six years later, I saw one of Brien Foerster’s posts showing elongated skulls. I was lucky enough to reach him and talk a little bit about what I was looking at.

Looking at the images of the skulls made me curious as to who these people were and how they looked. There were almost no interpretations of their appearance and almost nothing about their history. 

My momentary sense of inclusion made me wonder what I could do to help him to advance our understanding of these people. Although I had not picked up a pencil in 14 years, I felt sure I could draw them to recreate their faces, to see what they looked like. 

I'd quit art school, but continued to pursue art in various ways for 18 years, culminating in working on large sculptural projects in the mid-nineties, at which point I stopped drawing and making art.

Meanwhile, back to the skulls, I started doing online and archival research, collecting the images of elongated skulls, and drawing. To date, I have done over 5,000 drawings and collected more than 18,000 photos of skulls, mummies and related artifacts. 

While working with this incredible data and making drawings, the lack of understanding, history and myth of what these people were and how they looked did not lend a sense of legitimacy to the attempt. 

There were so many unanswered questions I wondered if perhaps this is why so few people could involve themselves with this kind of project. It’s like a wall so big, you don’t notice it or don’t want to admit it is there.

When I began this study in 2011, the count of skulls was known by very few people, who were actually aware of this. They estimated that there were a few hundreds of skulls. 

But through web searches, I’ve found literally thousands of skulls! There are also about one thousand skulls in Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Chile which are not yet accessible to the public. 

Even more skulls remain unknown, as they have not been photographed (or at least are not publicly accessible) and therefore, not available for public viewing in Chile and Peru.

IG: Academic researchers are generally dismissive of elongated skulls. They see them as nothing but artificially deformed human skulls - a result of deliberate head-binding to achieve a flattened shape. In addition to this 'artificial head-modification' thesis, they sometimes also cite a medical problem called Hydrocephaly. Why, do you think, academics maintain this view? What is their evidence?

Elongated skulls are never spoken about without terms of head-binding. It’s the hole in the bucket refrain from which there is no escape. But now there are also those, and I mean not only researchers but obviously people, who’ve woken up to the layers of lies we’ve been fed since the get-go. 

Many who look at the evidence of anomalies in the skulls, are not satisfied with believing in the cranial modification dogma. People like Brien Foerster, Lloyd Pye, Graham Hancock, not to forget Michael Cremo, examine and record evidence, rather than the stories made by earlier researchers, textbooks, and other gate keepers of conventional perspectives. The point is to keep asking questions.

The verbal portrayal of "binding" is a collective projection. The reality is that 99% of those who speak about it have never examined an elongated skull first-hand. I don't know how it's so prevalent except that it's repeated all the time.

The usual approach to elongated skulls is dominated by concepts, but the skulls’ shapes are not linguistic, they are morphologic. My work has been an attempt at making a soft rebuttal by making public my process of looking-and-drawing, which involves seeing.

I don’t rely on classical authorities. In my work, the skulls are doing the talking. Talking is a projection, while seeing is receiving. And no one can answer questions which you alone can actually experience at the level of seeing. 

This is why my approach to elongated skulls is not conditioned by the dogma “elongated = deformed”.

IG: Are there any significant skulls that leave no doubt the 'artificial deformation' paradigm is wrong? How are these skulls different? Are there differences among elongated skulls themselves? Is it possible to group them according to shape and other features?

To your first question - take a look at these skulls exhibited at the Ica Museum in Peru.

There are problems with the official story, which dates back to Hippocrates, defining Huns as having been bound. It claims that all skulls are merely artificially modified skulls of the modern looking humans. 

The fact is, many had larger eyes as well as a 25% larger brain case than modern humans. Also, they had higher ears, up to ½ an inch higher than normal.

Cranial sutures are different. There are mysterious holes at the back of the skull. An extra plate above the Occipital, known as the “Inca bone”...

There is a problem with infants too, which have been found in Peru and the Andes with a tooth-set of a three year old modern human child. Most parents will know that molar teeth in an infant sized toddler is unheard of.

In South America, there are different categories or types. It does seem so, but I don’t get into (Spanish) terminology. For me, it’s just another way to separate from seeing the skull’s individual characteristics. 

I tend to say that “they had range”, like the unexplained red head that appears randomly in a family line. Similarly, the Elongated, the Huns... were wild in this way. They had a greater range, it seems, of morphological expression.

In terms of the connections between the Americas and Eurasia, elongated skulls from these areas are so similar that sometimes the only way to distinguish them from one another is by the background, or patina, on the skulls.

IG: Are you relying on any anthropological or forensic methods of facial reconstruction? Or more generally – how do you visualize the appearance of these people?

Organs come together to form the overall “body” of a head. Drawing the same skull from different directions tends to smooth out mistakes. The form arises in unison with the elements of bone, muscle and skin. Mainly, bones define much of a person’s face, so accuracy, we would hope, is inevitable.

IG: How do you fund your research? What are your future plans?

There’s a definite need for funding. When and if funding becomes available, it will greatly facilitate research and presentation of elongated skulls and it would increase our understanding of the historical significance of these people.

This has been somewhat of a slow awakening, but I think my drawings have gotten better. They were not good at all at first, although they were something at a time when we had almost nothing at all to look at.

My drawing work continues. Now I hope to gain research access to the archives of museums in Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago. To look at skulls from Peru firsthand and, hopefully, photograph their collections of Peruvian skulls. 

I am also working to produce a book of illustrations, presenting images of skulls and reconstruction drawings. In order to get a more definite understanding, studies done in Eastern Europe as well as the Andean region will be required.

8 Reptilian Traits In Human Beings

According to Sumerian legend, the Anunnaki genetically manipulated our genetics and created three versions of what we know as mankind, today.

The Anunnaki may have reptilian blood too, as they intermixed with their creations.

We don’t specifically know how our DNA was manipulated. What we DO know is that only 20 of the 64 codons in our DNA are active.

Imagine what you could do if ALL of your codons were activated? I address this idea in the article, “How Can We Change Our DNA Right Now?“.

Additionally, our human DNA differs dramatically from all other primates as we only have 46 chromosomes compared to 48 in other primates. The first two chromosomes appear to be fused together, which may explain part of the genetic manipulation by the Anunnaki.

The following are reptilian traits in human beings. You may recognize a few of them in you or someone you know. Please keep in mind that these are simply TRAITS and being partReptilian DOES NOT make you a bad person as there are good and bad people of all galactic (and planetary) races.

1. The Reptilian Brain

The most obvious reptilian trait would be the Reptilian Brain, which we all have. The Reptilian Brain is responsible for the “Fight or Flight” response which is generally based on fear-evoking actions. This is what the mainstream media news targets every time you watch those talking propaganda heads. Reptilians would appear to be very paranoid and skeptical as this is the brain they trust the most.

2. Lower than average body temperatures

Reptiles are cold-blooded animals, so it would follow that Reptilians are as well. They may prefer higher temperatures or do not need as many blankets at night when sleeping.

3. Lower than average blood pressure

Compared to most other mammals, reptiles have lower blood pressure, so it’s very well possible that Reptilians do too.

4. An extra vertebra

Some people are born with an extra vertebra, which is sometimes referred to as either a Transitional Vertebra or Cauda.

5. Hypersensitivity to light

Reptiles, such as the leopard gecko, stays hidden in the daylight and comes out at night, due to light sensitivity. Reptilians would more likely prefer to be “night owls” than to expose themselves in the daylight.

6. Rh- blood type

Approximately 5% of the world’s population has Rh- blood, which was introduced to our planet around 25-35,000 years ago in Europe.

According to Dee Finney:

The Reptilians are tracking those with Rh-Negative Factor Blood. Going back into time…. the Rh-Neg Hybrids came from the Draco Caverns in the Carpathian Mountains. They were mostly red Haired, with Green Eyes and Black haired, with Brown Eyes. They tried to infiltrate themselves into the Blond/Brown Haired, with Blue Eyes, Civilization…. Rh-Negs are Hybrids. They are Part Reptilian/part human. If two Rh-Negs try to have a baby it will usually die or be born a “Blue Baby”, because it is not processing oxygen properly. Thus “Blue-Bloods”, if they survive. 5% of the Earth’s population are currently Rh-Negatives. But, they are 15% of the population of the England and the USA.

7. Lack of empathy

Some reptiles will kill and eat their own if comes down to it. Reptilians may do the same. We’ve all heard about numerous abductions and how people have tied them to secret societies and the Roman Catholic Church. Reptilians have little to no compassion for life and exist strictly to survive by any means possible.

Deal With the GREYS — The TAU IX TREATY for the Preservation of Humanity

The US Government has made secret agreements with the Greys and there are many consistent indications to support this theory.

The exact date is unclear but most sources specify it happened in 1954, probably on February 20. At that time, a committee of Grey aliens would have landed at Edwards Air Force Base, with the express intention of meeting and discussing with Dwight Eisenhower, the US President at that time.

The deal has since been called the Edwards Agreement or, as Dr. Dan Burisch called it, the Tau IX Treaty for the Preservation of Humanity.

An agreement was reached following the discussions, one that would prove very lucrative for those involved. Unfortunately, the consequences would be disastrous for the rest of the world.

The deal specified that the US Government would allow people to be abducted on a regular basis and the Greys solemnly promised they would return them safely and only after wiping their memory.

But, as any abductee could confirm, this is not the case. More often than not, those who were snatched by aliens would recall the incident, in all its horrifying details.

In exchange for providing human guinea pigs, the Government would get their hands on advanced alien technology. Another ‘clause in the contract’ was the exchange of ambassadors from both sides. 

It is unclear how many participated in this exchange program, but the most famous are Crill, the reptilian from the Draco constellation and J-Rod, the Grey from Zeta Reticulum.

The Edwards Agreement was the apex of a chain of events that began in 1947, when the wreckage of an alien spacecraft was recovered near Roswell, NM. 

Inside the wreck, several alien bodies were found. This incident undoubtedly raised awareness towards the extraterrestrial phenomenon and probably gave rise to modern ufology.

In 1949, New Mexico witnessed another UFO crash but this time, there was one survivor. He was nicknamed EBE, which is short for extraterrestrial biological entity and the information he provided allowed the US Government to establish contact with his people.

In 1951, the Greys were contacted using a device built to the specifications supplied by the EBE. One year later, extraterrestrial communications were well underway, paving the road for the 1954 treaty.

On the night of February 20-21, 1954, while on a vacation to Palm Springs, California, President Dwight Eisenhower went missing. It is speculated he was secretly taken to nearby Edwards Air Force base for an encounter with the Grey aliens. 

His official statement was that he had to undergo an emergency dental treatment and he had visited a local dentist.

While the meeting did go as planned, there were some unforeseen consequences. The landing was kept secret in order to see how people would react when being put face-to-face with a technologically advanced alien race. 

The hundreds of soldiers present at Edwards AFB during first contact received no briefing prior to the event; they were the unsuspecting test audience.

This approach would later prove to be disastrous, as a high percentage of those present began suffering from various psychological ailments, ranging from dysfunctional behavior to psychosis, criminal intentions and suicide.

Over the years there have been several confessions coming from people who claim they witnessed the event firsthand. One of them is Gerald Light, a famous metaphysical community leader at the time. Light says his involvement was gauging the effect this breakthrough would have over the general public.

“My dear friends: I have just returned from Muroc [Edwards Air Force Base]. The report is true — devastatingly true! During my two days’ visit I saw five separate and distinct types of aircraft being studied and handled by our Air Force officials — with the assistance and permission of the Etherians! I have no words to express my reactions. It has finally happened. It is now a matter of history,” wrote Light.

According to Light, several other important figures were present at the meeting. Among them was Eisenhower’s chief economic advisor, Dr. Edwin Nourse. 

If he had been present, he would have done so in order to offer his expertise on the potential economic impact of a first contact with intelligent alien life. Light also said several trustworthy religious leaders had participated, their roles being obvious.

A number of other sources support Light’s claims. Notorious whistleblowers have put forward their testimonies, describing two sets of meetings involving different extraterrestrial groups.

According to former Naval Intelligence officer William Cooper, large objects moving towards Earth had been discovered in 1953. First believed to be asteroids, it was later determined they were actually space ships. 

Two different missions, Project Sigma and Project Plato managed to establish contact with the extraterrestrials, through binary code.

Cooper differentiates two alien races, the Nordic ones, friendly towards humanity and the Greys, who had different plans. 

According to him, the Nordics helped negotiate the signing of a non-aggression treaty between humanity and the Greys. The Nordics did not offer technology but rather the chance for spiritual advancement.

The treaty stipulated that the aliens would not interfere in our affairs and neither would we interfere in theirs. Their presence on Earth would be kept a secret. 

They could regularly abduct humans for medical and development purposes as long as they would not harm them. The humans would then be returned to their abduction point, with no memory of the event.

Their demands were that humans dismantle and destroy its nuclear weapons arsenal. They warned humanity about its path of self destruction and condemned the fact that we were killing each other, polluting the planet and wasting Earth’s natural resources. 

The committee met their demands with extreme suspicion and prejudice, believing that nuclear disarming was not in the best interest of the United States and that it would leave the world helpless in the face of an alien threat. Eisenhower rejected their proposition.

Another witness to the meetings was John Lear, the son of the creator of the Lear Jet, William Lear. According to him, the Nordics offered their help in eliminating the Greys’ threat but President Eisenhower turned it down because they offered no technology.

Did this meeting really take place? If so, it would appear to confirm the current world-wide UFO phenomenon. However, more than 60 years have passed since the alleged First Contact, and an official disclosure is nowhere in sight.

The World’s Largest Church (Vatican) About ETs: “The Existence of These Beings is Real. We Can’t Have Doubts.”

‘Shocking testimony’ is not so shocking to some these days, especially when you have statements from hundreds of credible ‘high ranking’ people within the military, academia, and political realms alluding to the fact that, as Dr. Edgar Mitchell says (6th man to walk on the moon), “we are not alone, they’ve been coming here for a long time.”

One common misconception about extraterrestrial life is the idea that it goes against religion. 

This could not be further from the truth, as in most cases, religion actually confirms the existence of life beyond our own world. For example, in Sikhism, God did not limit life to our planet, but created it throughout the cosmos.

In Islam, God created other planets similar to Earth, full of other life forms. Islam also speaks of the jinn, multidimensional creatures who can be “good” or “evil.” In Christianity there are various interpretations of life beyond our own world, and in many ancient Vedic scriptures we have the same. 

The list goes on and on, and the examples don’t stop. This is why when it comes to Catholicism, and statements coming from the Vatican about extraterrestrials, it’s not really a surprise.

For the past few years, the world’s largest church seems to have been positioning itself to be a major player in the alien debate. 

It’s no secret that the Vatican has been active in the sciences, particularly astronomy – the’ve maintained several major astronomical observatories and a large collection of radio telescopes.

The statement above comes from Monsignor Corrado Balducci, a longtime friend of Pope John Paul II and the Vatican’s leading exorcist. 

He has been quite outspoken about extraterrestrials, stating more than once that contact between humans and extraterrestrials has already happened. The above quote is one statement out of many that he’s made.

In 2005, Vatican astronomer Guy Consolmango stated that humankind is facing a future discovery of extraterrestrial intelligence. In 2008, Vatican chief astronomer Father Jose Gabril Funes stated that the discovery of intelligent extraterrestrial life, and its existence on a planet other than Earth, “doesn’t contradict our faith.”

The list of comments goes on and on, and as UFO researcher Richard Dolan argues:

“It is doubtful that all of these Vatican authorities would speak so openly if they felt they were in conflict with official doctrine. Quietly, a policy appears to have been decided upon.” (A.D. After Disclosure)

As for Pope Francis, this is what he has had to say:

"He created beings and allowed them to develop according to the internal laws that he gave to each one, so that they were able to develop and to arrive at their fullness of being. He gave autonomy to the beings of the universe at the same time at which he assured them of his continuous presence, giving being to every reality. 

"And so creation continued for centuries and centuries, millennia and millennia, until it became which we know today, precisely because God is not a demiurge or a magician, but the creator who gives being to all things." 

He has also said that extraterrestrials beings would be welcomed, and that he would try to have them baptized. Guy Consolmango (mentioned earlier) has expressed the same sentiment.

Vatican/Religious Controversy

Whether it’s the massive Vatican sex abuse scandal, all of the ancient texts that have remained locked throughout history (not for public viewing), mass murder, black magic, or the routine silencing of scientists, the Vatican is no stranger to controversy. 

Whether they’ve used religion as a form of control, and plan on doing the same thing when it comes to extraterrestrial life, who knows. 

Pope Francis has been making a lot of positive headlines lately, which seems to have many people confused, given the fact that a massive amount of people perceive an organization like the Vatican to be a ‘dark’ one (just as many people perceive it to be a ‘good’ one). 

This is a completely different subject, and I just wanted to keep this article on the fact that the Vatican endorses, and possibly knows about, the reality of extraterrestrial life, as do many within the military, political, and academic realms (as shown by an article linked in the first paragraph of this article).

Whether religions, or parts of religion, are used as a form of control is a completely different topic, and I’ll save that for another article.

In this rare picture, at first glance, the evil tyrant looks like a bad pantomime dame, but is actually sporting a Japanese kimono.

The Fuhrer is seen donning the swastika-emblazoned traditional dress in the 1930s, despite not being known for his love of different cultures.

Bizarrely, before the start of WWII, from when he was sworn in as chancellor in 1933, it was quite common for Germans to buy novelty nick nacks bearing an image of the Fuhrer, such as this.

Its exact origin is not known, but it is speculated it was taken to commemorate the signing of the international pact between Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan on November 25 1936.

The market for Nazi memorabilia continues today and because the regime produced vast quantities of items such as pistols, swords, knives, batons, helmets and rifles, there are many still available to collect.

And, as the Nazis were convinced they would reign supreme over the world for centuries to come, they went all out to design visually striking, powerful paraphernalia that would impress their conquered enemies.

This artist’s proof of the National Socialist logo, circled and initialed by Hitler himself, shows just how closely involved he was with every aspect of the party image. 

It’s highly unlikely, however, that even the most fervent Nazi would be thrilled to find that this one absurd image of the Fuhrer in a kimono would outlast the Third Reich!

A Previously Unknown Ancient Civilization Discovered in the Amazon

Rapid deforestation in combination with Google Earth has allowed the detection of 210 geoglyphs in 200 different site sites, in a strip of 250 kilometers by 10 kilometers wide in the Amazon. 

Just like the Nazca lines, the incredible geometric, zoomorphic and anthropomorphic designs of the Amazon can only be truly appreciated from the air. The question remains, why?

Numerous remains of what is obviously part of an ancient and hitherto unknown civilization has appeared under the trees of the Amazon rainforest. 

According to researchers, 260 huge avenues, long irrigation canals and fences for livestock have been spotted from the air. The discovery was made in the vicinity of the border between Bolivia and Brazil.

The ruins have been uncovered due to rapid deforestation, a process that is revealing what previously was hidden under deep layers of vegetation. 

The traditional idea many historians share,  is that before the arrival of Spanish and Portuguese in the fifteenth century, and unlike conventional history in the Andes, there weren’t any advanced civilizations in the Amazon region. 

But, given the fact how deforestation has revealed much of the hidden secrets of the area, scholars are confident that an advanced civilization inhabited the area in the distant past. 

The numerous aerial and satellite images are revealing, a complex network of towns, cities, roads and structures that until now had remained hidden under the impenetrable layer of the Amazon.

So far, researchers have been aided by Google Earth which has allowed them to identify structures that are not visible for the ground. 

So far, numerous discoveries have been made, some of them are square or rectangular structures, while others form concentric circles or complex geometric figures as hexagons and octagons, all connected by a network of wide avenues.

Researchers found neat trenches or pits, that are between 1 and 4 meters deep, and upturned 11-12 meters wide. These are found in different sizes and designs: circles, squares, rectangles, compound shapes, straight and parallel lines. In addition, the figures are connected by what appear to be “roads”.

Although there is no evidence that the ancient inhabitants of the Amazon have built pyramids and developed a written language, as the ancient Egyptians did, they did show signs of great social complexity and an ability to tame the environment, something very different from what they do today, as the isolated tribes living in the amazon today have a very different social agenda.

Thanks to excavation, researchers have unearthed pottery, carved stones and other elements that point towards signs of human habitation, although some of the sites did not yield any artifacts, researchers suggest that some of the archaeological sites might have had ceremonial functions while others might have been intended for defensive purposes.

The dominating features of geometry and the dimension of the geoglyphs reveals something fascinating about the ancient inhabitants of the region.

Researches thought that the ancient people, local to the area were only nomads, hunters and gatherers in the distant past, but the number of structures and their size point towards a complex society with tremendous capabilities in numerous fields. 

Researchers estimate that in some of the archaeological sites discovered so far, the population was around 70,000.

Researchers know very little about this Amazonian civilization, so far, thanks to the pottery discovered during excavations, researchers were able to place the civilization in history around 2000 years ago.

Speaking to the NYTimes, Denise Schaan, an archaeologist at the Federal University of Pará in Brazil who now leads research on the geoglyphs, said radiocarbon testing indicated that they were built 1,000 to 2,000 years ago, and might have been rebuilt several times during that period.

“If one wants to recreate pre-Columbian Amazonia, most of the forest needs to be removed, with many people and a managed, highly productive landscape replacing it,” said William Woods, a geographer at the University of Kansas who is part of a team studying the Acre geoglyphs. 
“I know that this will not sit well with ardent environmentalists,” Mr. Woods said, “but what else can one say?”
